Week 9 Wrap-up

My Vick in a Box (113.50) over House of Pain (85.88)

I have to admit, I had my doubts about My Vick in a Box, but in the end they really pulled it out... Brady, Moss, and Williams all did well for HoP, but it wasn't enough to top the monster game that Moss and Rivers had for MViaB. It probably would have helped if HoP started a kicker, but not enough to have mattered this week. On a more serious note, has anybody heard from HoP's owner in the last week...?

Don't these guys look happy?

CarJacker (114.32) over Horn Supremacy (101.70)

CarJackers continues their dominance through the regular season, while HS drops another close one. Not much you can do about this one if you're HS. G-Reg Olsen decides to wake up from fantasy football irrelevance, in a big way, by scoring 3 TDs. Even with poor performances from Megatron and LT, the Jackers are just too good. Brees has a good (not great) day for HS, but they just can't get enough production from their other players to nullify Olsen's monster day.

G-Reg and Cutler are developing quite a rapport...

Juggernauts (142.68) over Tackle Me Elmo (123.96)
The Jugges had a lot riding on the Seattle game and it seemed to pay off. Between Hasselbeck, Jones, and the Seattle D, they scored almost 60 points. Miles Austin was quiet for the Jugges, until he caught a 49 yard TD pass... Is there anyone in the world happier than this guy right now. TME put up a respectable day, with big games from the usual suspects (DeAngelo William, Joe Addai, and Chris Johnson), but the Packers D really let them down. Giving up 38 points to the Bucs and a rookie QB; that's just not going to get the job done. The loss of Owen Daniels at TE last week really hurt Elmo. Bo Scaife just can't put up the same production.

Hi. My name is Miles and I have a really good life.

Too Damn Lousy (97.58) over Injured Reserve (77.92)
TDL does it again. What did I say last week? The only number that matters in the one in the W column. Can't wait to read next week's previews... IR has to be disappointed by Colston's production on Sunday (1 catch for 45 yards). Colston dropped a few balls, including a TD pass, that had Brees screaming for the challenge flag. TDL pretty much owes the victory to Mike Sims-Walker and John Carney. As long as Sims-Walker can make curfew for the rest of the season, he should continue to put up monster numbers.

Have fun in Baltimore next week!

Jacko's Petting Zoo (135.98) over Spring Branch Vatos (90.12)
One of the few games I got right last week in the previews. Rodgers, Jackson, MJD, and Benson all contribute big games for Jacko, while SBV just can't manage enough points from his island of misfit toys. The Eagles surprised me with just how bad they looked on Sunday night, but in the end, the Eagles D still had just about as many points as Romo did. Sammie Stroughter catches a TD pass from Josh Freeman (who? what?), but still only manages 3 catches for 19 yards. Tedd Ginn Jr has 97 (return) yards, worth approximately 2 points. This could be the beginning of the end for the Vatos.

Wildcats (160.02) over Pure Misery (109.98)

What can I say? It was a good week to be a Wildcat. Anytime Warner throws for 5 TDs (as opposed to 5 interceptions the week before), it's going to be a big week for the Wildcats, especially if two of those TDs go to Fitzgerald. A solid contribution from the rest of the team allow the Cats to hold off the onslaught of Michael "The Burner" Turner, who rips off 166 yards and 2 TDs for PM.
